PROJECT PROGRESS

American Legion Park is part of Let’s Play Houston, an initiative to revitalize 25 neighborhood parks! The proposed improvements to American Legion Park will enhance accessibility, connectivity, and recreational opportunities while creating a welcoming space for park users of all ages and abilities.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Community engagement is at the heart of Let’s Play Houston to ensure improvements are responsive to the community’s park needs. Houston Parks Board partnered with local civic organizations and the council district office to gather feedback through a survey and various events in the neighborhood, including a pop-up event at American Legion Park on April 26, 2026. Planned improvements were informed by the feedback received. Special thanks to all who assisted with this effort and who joined us at the pop-up event!
