PROJECT PROGRESS

George T. Nelson (Yellowstone) Park is part of Let’s Play Houston, an initiative to revitalize 25 neighborhood parks! The proposed improvements to George T. Nelson Park will enhance accessibility, connectivity, and recreational opportunities while creating a welcoming space for park users of all ages and abilities.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Community engagement is at the heart of Let’s Play Houston to ensure improvements are responsive to the community’s park needs. Houston Parks Board partnered with local civic organizations and the council district office to gather feedback through a survey and various events in the neighborhood, including a community listening session during the LaSalette Place Civic Club meeting at Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church on March 12, 2026. Planned improvements were informed by the feedback received. Special thanks to all who assisted with this effort.
Thank you to everyone who filled out the survey and those who joined us for the Community Listening Session at Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church!
