Download the FREE Agents of Discovery app and visit one of the newest Bayou Greenway segments along Sims Bayou Greenway! The new 10-foot wide hike-and-bike trail begins in Glenbrook Park and takes players past Houston Botanic Garden and the notable Sims Bayou Greenway Bridge.

Upon completion, email the special code word from the final mission screen to lindacarper@houstonparksboard.org to receive a limited edition HPB swag bag.

Bike racks and parking are available at Glenbrook Park, or take METRO bus route 5 to the stop at Galveston Rd @ Howard Dr.

Houston’s parks connect us to each other across communities. Parks also serve as spaces of joy and celebration where we are united by the common space under our feet. Join us for Houston Parks Board’s Annual Luncheon, in person, on October 18th as we celebrate the greenspaces that bring us closer to our families and our neighbors, to the city we love, and the things that matter most.

The 2019 annual luncheon will serve as the kickoff event for a year-long, city-wide celebration as we near completion of the Bayou Greenways project at the end of 2020.

3rd Ward on Tap is a block party on Velasco Street along the Columbia Tap Trail from Holman to Elgin Street. 

Enjoy music from a local DJ, games for the whole family, food trucks, and more while exploring the community resource fair with booths from 3rd Ward nonprofits and organizations. 

Bring your bike and helmets to check out local 3rd Ward community organizations and significant businesses along the Columbia Tap Trail to the north and south on musical group bike rides that depart at 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM during the event.

A limited number of bikes are available for free rental. 

3rd Ward on Tap is possible thanks to Change Happens, Houston Parks Board, Healthy Outdoor Communities Collaborative, Nature and Eclectic Outdoors, University of Houston, Houston BCycle, Bike Houston, EaDo Bike Shop, Center for Civic and Public Policy Improvement, and many others.

Reimagining the Columbia Tap Trail. Reuniting the Community.

Along with our partners and community input, Houston Parks Board recently announced a plan for this future greenway that proposes trails, recreation, and landscaping components that complement the nearby detention basins. Learn more about Vogel Creek and how it is part of phase one of the Inwood Recreation Project.

Park along the street at 7823 Streamside Drive Houston, TX 77091  and follow the virtual mission along the sidewalks lining Vogel Creek. Please be courteous of residential parking and avoid parking directly in front of homes.
