Revitalization Oak Forest Park
2100 Judiway, 77018
Through the “More Than 1Way 2Play” campaign, the Oak Forest Community, with help from Houston Parks Board, raised funds to build a playground for all abilities. It’s the first inclusive public playground in central northwest Houston.
The playground will feature accessible equipment, ensuring all children, including those with disabilities can swing, slide, and climb with family and friends. We’ve also added picnic tables, park benches, a shaded area, engraved paver path, bike rack, landscape berm, toddler swing set, and a painted art tile installation. The first phase of improvements included tennis courts updates, basketball court restriping, new benches, and two sets of dual-height water fountains with dog bowls. Playground construction began October 2019 and is planned to be completed spring 2020. Follow Friends of Oak Forest Park for progress updates.
The deadline to order engraved pavers was December 31, 2019. The new deadline to order art tiles is February 9, 2020. Please email Elyssa Horvath at firstname.lastname@example.org to coordinate tile and materials pick up.
To purchase multiple tiles, select "Other" to enter the total amount and type the quantity of tiles in the Notes box. For example, a $300 donation with a note of "3 art tiles".
