Through the “More Than 1Way 2Play” campaign, the Oak Forest Community, with help from Houston Parks Board, raised funds to build a playground for all abilities. It’s the first inclusive public playground in central northwest Houston.
The playground features accessible equipment, ensuring all children, including those with disabilities can swing, slide, and climb with family and friends. We’ve also added picnic tables, park benches, a shaded area, engraved paver path, bike rack, landscape berm, toddler swing set, and a painted art tile installation. The first phase of improvements included tennis courts updates, basketball court restriping, new benches, and two sets of dual-height water fountains with dog bowls.
