Houston Parks Board stands in solidarity with our Asian American and Pacific Islander colleagues, friends, and community members. We denounce the growing violence against Asian Americans during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Houston Parks Board pledges to weave racial equity even more firmly into our work as we design, build, and maintain parkland throughout Houston. Houston Parks Board also strives to support equity by facilitating, advocating for, and collaborating with others to achieve equitable access and outcomes for EVERYONE.

As part of this commitment, we have participated in The Highline Network’s Equitable Impacts Framework, a pilot project aimed at developing measures and methodologies to make our work more equitable and accountable. We have also established an Equity Task Force to focus on this critical work.

As part of our mission to create, improve, protect, and advocate for parks for everyone, Houston Parks Board is committed to achieving internal and external equitable outcomes and opportunities for EVERYONE to thrive. To that end, we will advocate for a community that embraces all communities and we stand against racism.

Join us as we commit to creating welcoming places in Houston for people of every background.
