Roksan
Okan-Vick, AIA
Executive Director
As
of July 13, 2004, Roksan has
been the executive director of
the Houston Parks Board, a non-profit
organization that creates, improves,
and protects parkland for Houston.
She leads and directs all aspects
of the organization’s business
and serves as liaison to city
government, other green space
organizations, national park
organizations, outside consultants,
foundations and the board of
directors.
Appointed
by the Mayor of Houston in August
of 2002, she became the first
woman director of the Houston
Parks & Recreation Department:
responsible for 850 employees,
314 parks, and an annual budget
of $52 million. As director,
worked closely with the Mayor’s
office, 14 elected City Council
members, 4 elected county commissioners,
numerous non-profit, private
groups and foundations.
From
late1995 to 2002, Roksan was
employed by Friends of Hermann
Park (FHP), a non-profit organization
dedicated to the restoration
and enhancement of Hermann Park
in Houston. As its executive
director, she was responsible
for $31 million of projects and
programs in Hermann Park , on-going
access and parking, maintenance,
and concessions management in
Hermann Park , and for FHP’s
last $10 million fundraising
campaign. |

Trent
Rondot
Project Manager
Trent joined
the staff in 1999 as the Project
Manager. For more than 20 years,
he has been involved in many
different aspects of the design
professions, including park planning
and development, landscape architecture,
environmental design, land planning
and architecture. Prior to coming
to Houston, Trent worked with
the Indianapolis Parks and Recreation
Department and was co-founder
of his own park and playground
design firm. |

Deborah
Rule
Development Coordinator
Since joining the Houston Parks Board in 1999, Deborah has served as the Assistant to the Executive Director and the Development Coordinator. Her major responsibilities include grant administration, community liaison, coordination of events, and liaison to the Houston Parks Board of Directors and committees. Prior to joining the Houston Parks Board, she has served other non-profits in various roles. |
