Brays Greenway Phase I Trails
Working in collaboration with Harris County Flood Control District, the Houston Parks Board has continued the acquisition of land along Brays Bayou to create a series of parks and green spaces. Trail construction has been completed from Broadway Avenue at the Ship Channel to Mason Park. Acquisition of land to MacGregor Park is also nearing completion.
With existing and future trails, the greenway will allow pedestrian and bicycle passage from the Ship Channel to the Texas Medical Center, approximately 9 miles. There are several population centers and areas of interest along the greenway that will benefit from the multi-use path including Texas Southern University, University of Houston, Hermann Park and Texas Medical Center. The off-street trails provide safe passage of people to and from work, school and other activities, and provide quality of life benefits such as recreational opportunities and health benefits.
